When we consider all of the different promotional methods we could use  the most cost effective method is and will continue to be for some time Social Media. With almost 500 million daily active users around the globe across the most popular platforms your target market is on at least one of these platforms. We also all know how often social media platforms change the goal posts. Yes they are making it harder for businesses to be seen and yes this will mean that in the near future you will have to pay for some advertising.

However with costs as little as $5 a day to reach masses this hardly seems like a deal breaker. Even if you do not choose to utilise the paid advertising it is still recommended that all businesses are active within 3 platforms as the average person uses 2.5 platforms every day. Did you know that even when people find you through google searches they will still head to your social platforms to see if you are still active and read reviews.

Here are some really interesting stats around the use of social platforms in Australia as advised by Socialmedianews.com.au. As at the 31st August 2018 social media was rampant in Australia showing:

  • 6 in 10 Australians use Facebook
  • 1 in 2 Australians use Facebook on a daily basis
  • 1 in 2 Australians use YouTube
  • 1 in 3 Australians use Instagram
  • 1 in 4 Australians use Snapchat
